PhilHealth Contribution Increases to 5%

The new premium rate for PhilHealth contribution is now at 5% starting January 2024. The new contribution table follows what is prescribed in the Universal Health Care Law under Republic Act No. 11223 made into law in July 23, 2018 and took effect last December 2019.  

Based on the table, all premiums are expected to adhere to the 5% premium starting January 2024.

The PhilHealth contribution rates for 2024 are based on the monthly basic income of members. To compute for the monthly premiums, the following are some of the guidelines:

• If the monthly basic income is P10,000.00, the premium rate for monthly contribution is at 5%, or a total of P500.00.
• If the monthly basic income is between P10,000.01 to P99,999.99, the premium rate for monthly contribution is still 5%, with total from P500.00 to P5,000.00.
• If the monthly income is P100,000 or above, the premium rate for monthly contribution is still 5% at P5,000.00. This means the maximum contribution for basic income higher than P100,000.00 is pegged at P5,000.00.
