The manufacturing industry in the Philippines is one of the key sectors of the economy, contributing about 23% of the GDP in 2022. ¹   It has been growing steadily for the past two years, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the global supply chain disruptions. ²   Some of the subsectors that have shown strong performance include meat processing, heated tobacco products, and electronics. ³   However, the industry also faces some issues such as rising input costs, low productivity, lack of skilled workers, and environmental concerns. ⁴   These challenges need to be addressed by the government and the private sector to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in the Philippines.
